As you can see in the attached picture, Owen has become the tallest in the family. He has been enjoying his 2nd year of college (except the studying part) at the University of Minnesota. Besides hockey, Owen has picked up another sport, volleyball. (He might be getting ready for the beach volleyball games at the next Olympic!) He was able to jump high enough to play on the traveling intramural team at school. We wondered how he manages his time for all the activities he participates in. Karen works for Hartford Financial in the Woodbury office and lives at home with us. She will be transferring to the Bloomington office after the Christmas holiday. The era of five-minute driving to work is coming to the end for her. She is probably one of the very few people who can still enjoy daily home-cooked meals at their parent's house after college. We could not be happier to have her around. Jamie is a tough one. She survived a fall from her bicycle on a rainy day on the Cannon Falls bike trail in October. The rain was totally unexpected. Her fractured shoulder kept her at home for two weeks. Now she is going through the very-unpleasant physical therapy everyday to rebuild her muscle strength and range of motion. Other than that painful experience, she is still the source of happiness for the family. Raymond has finally completed with his long-term "sabbatical". Apparently starting a small business was not a good match for him, especially with the slow economy. In September he applied for a job in the IT department of Bethel University (in Arden Hills) and was accepted. It is a full time job to support the network connectivity for the whole school. Raymond's goal is to attend seminary classes in the evening, once a week, next year. It seems like a wonderful arrangement. But we'll see if Raymond can handle that or not when the time comes.
